Flea Market Floral

Yay! the country oppies have delivered again, we were in Wagga over the holidays and every oppy seemed to have an abundance of floral that is not turning up in the city stores and of course at a fraction of the price.

Some fab boys sheets too, the green bamboo is my favourite. I think I have enough for a boys quilt now.

I love this single bed teal rose comforter, I paid only $3 for it, soaked it for two days and it came up a treat, so soft and snug.

Guess who's nabbed it for the lounge?

Some pretty plates for my wall. Love the grey and yellow floral.

Some Pyrex for the collection. I'm leaving a lot of Pyrex on the shelf these days, only buying the bits I really like or have use for.

And I really need to get my sewing mojo back, look at all of these patterns in Rosa's size.

It's been a while since I've linked up with Sophie, go take a peek.

The Boys Den

Apart from my new kitchen the boys room is my favourite room in the house. I don't know why....

Maybe it's the funky new lego storage sourced by my lovely friend Vic. You are too kind!

Or the $10 Vinnies desk (which I have seen in a sydney auction house for $320....ouch!).

The colourful array of favourite books seem to match their hand made quilts perfectly.

The bubble gum machine came from the husbands previous life and is filled with marbles that were gifted to the boys.

Let's not forget the bed, one of my biggest furniture splurges to date, I still can't believe I managed to convince the husband that quality really does outweigh the expensive price tag.

The addition of a fabulous new light fitting is all it needs and we are done.............for now anyway.

What's your favourite room in the house?

Transformed - Flea Market Finds

Hey look! I'm back. Goodness knows what happened to me over the last 4 weeks, it seems I went to sleep In February and woke up in April. Didn't even do or achieve anything really exciting, nor did I go away, just a small case of bloggers block I guess.

I can't think of a better night to start back, It's a brand new month and it's Sunday so you know what that means!  joining in with Sophie at Her Library Adventures.

Remember this? my little wooden drinks trolly transformed to a rather bright shade of green.  It wasn't love at first sight but it's certainly growing on me.

?

And my lovely wooden lamp base finally met it's perfect match, I can say I love the grey and white chevron print.

Now time for me to pour myself a cuppa and catch up on some of your blogs, hope you have had a fabulous week end. We have!

Petal Pocket Pillows

When I happened across this sweet pattern a few weeks ago I knew exactly what I was going to make for two special girls having a birthday.

Nova at A cuppa and a catch up has created a fun pattern to make these gorgeous pillows. Such easy steps to follow and although I didn't do a lot of it by hand as she does I'm still really happy with the outcome.

The pillow is fully lined and combining the fabrics is the most fun. It's almost like making an entire quilt with hand stitched binding and all. The backing is quilted and you can choose to hand quilt the front if you like. She even has a boys version.

The best thing for me is that I used pieces from my stash and scrap bin and even used the old strips of wadding that are always left over after quilting, these were joined perfectly to make for not one but two very snugly and ever so cute Petal Pocket Pillows.

Go on, you know you want to make one!

Flea Market Finds

A Few finds of the wooden kind this week, loving my little trolly, it houses all kinds of things like school bags, notes, mail, keys and pencils. The husband seems to think the bottom shelf is a good spot for his beer....I think not!   planning on painting it white or bright yellow and attaching some new modern castor wheels.

I found this lamp base for $30 and a plain shade a week later for $5. I am just playing with fabric at the moment, attaching it with a peg to see what suits. I'm liking the yellow pods from Cloth but a black, yellow or green chevron would be the perfect addition for this room I think.

And this, oh so pretty cross stitch.  It was hiding behind a few frames, you know the ones that sometimes you can't even be bother to peek behind? it was closing time and the guy was calling out to all shoppers, I had to make a hasty decision. At $20 it was not cheap but how could I not bring it home with me? The more I look at it the more I love it and now I'm asking myself the question

"Is it corny to have Christmas on your walls all year round"?

I think if I keep it in my craft room then that's ok....yes?

As always, linking up with the lovely Sophie.

On the wall

Linking up with Punky and Me at her weekly meme My Place and Yours, the theme is "on the wall"

There is always lots going on on walls in my house.   My plate wall is definitely my fave thing at the moment and it's ever evolving.  I'm sure you would agree, a trip to the op shop is not complete with out a scurry through the crockery section.
