Vintage Goodness

Look at this bunch of vintage fats which landed on my doorstep yesterday. To say I'm happy with my loot would be an understatement.  I looooove the top brown rose one the best followed by the aqua stripe with black dots a close second. Thanks lovely ladies who joined in and a big thanks to Kel from Green tea and Red nails. To say that you could not fit them all in your car at once just goes to show the enormity of the task of sorting and posting. Well done you!

I have about six sewing projects on the go at the moment but I have a little something in mind with my new brown rose................more sewing time needed me thinks.

More Fabulous Fabric

Yet another vinnies find. This is a huge piece of fabric, would make a great table cloth for a kids party if I don't cut it up before hand. I love how it looks like cross stitch with the alphabet and lots of folkish images.

I have been sewing Harvey's quilt and exactly the same colours in this fabric are in his quilt fabrics. What a shame I have already sewn half, this would have looked great.

A Fabulous Find

Have a look at this yummy piece of fabric I found at Vinnies on the week end. It is from 1979 and simply gorgeous, it's a printed cotton and a huge 3.5 metres for a bargain of just $10. I skipped out of there with a big smile on my face I tell you........to think I was only 5 when this was printed!

I'm thinking a skirt for me and a dress for Rosa and loads left over.

SUNDAY STASH # 17

It's been ages since I've posted a SS. Mainly because there is not a lot of worthy pieces left in my stash.....time to start shopping! Here is a pile of pieces ready to cut into a quilt for Harvey. A bit of Michael Miller, Amy Butler, Prints Charming and some plain cotton as well. It's going to be very simple and quick to make. Hopefully I'll knock it up this week after I have finished charlies.

SUNDAY STASH # 16

So I went into Tessuti for some simple supplies and out I come with this 2 metre Florence Broadhurst remnant for $25. It is a stretch cotton, the print is quite large, it's continuous and runs down. I'm thinking a maxi dress or an oversize T shirt is in order. Gotta be happy with that!

SUNDAY STASH # 15

I'm loving this weeks SS. I was in Vinnies yesterday buying an orange cross stitch table cloth that I had seen earlier in the week when this little beauty was sitting right at the counter still in it's plastic. It's vintage and brand new. It still had the $6.59 price sticker on it from Venture...does anyone remember that store?? I do. It is a light flannelette so I probably wont put it into a quilt but I'm thinking of some large cushions for the boys beds. What's even better is that it is made in Australia, I'm pretty sure most commercial sheeting and bedding is made in China these days.

SUNDAY STASH # 12

This is some cute Japanese fabric I bought a long time ago. Not sure what to do with it, just sitting there looking pretty.

And certainly not a stash piece but a gorgeous butterfly the kids and I saw out the front. They kept chasing it away but it it kept coming back to the same spot. He made it very easy for me to get a good shot. Reminds me of an art deco lamp.

SUNDAY STASH #11

Here is a couple of vintage pieces I bought off ebay about a year ago. They appear to be linen, the large one is actually a paisley print, very old and a little stained but very girly. Once again sorry for the late entry, Paul and I were lucky enough to get a week end away with out children. We were in Brisbane for a wedding and had the nicest time......thanks mum!

SUNDAY STASH on Monday #10

Excuse me for no Sunday Stash last week. A trip away and sick children made it way too hard. This piece is called "Creatures and Critters" it's an Amy Schimle design for Robert Kaufman. I have had it for a while and am just waiting for a new baby to arrive to I can put it into a bubs quilt.

Not my baby by the way....someone elses!

SUNDAY STASH # 9

This weeks stash came from an ebay buy, it's a Japanese print which I can't remember the name of. The background which I thought was white turned out to be quite aqua, but I love it anyway.

SUNDAY STASH # 8

My friend Vicky is getting stuck into more screen printing. She surprised me last week with a couple of printed fabrics which she printed girly silhouettes on. So pretty and soooo clever. Thanks Vick, perfect timing for this weeks stash envy. I love them!

Happy Birthday Rosebud

Today was a very special day. Our little girl turned two. Happy Birthday gorgeous girl! you bring so much fun and joy to our family, we love you so, so much.

She had a lovely party with close friends, thank you all for the lovely gifts, Rosa is one very lucky girl.

Rosa squealed when she saw her cake this morning, it was worth all the hours Paul and I put into making it.

The little cradle we gave her, she just loved it and especially loved her quilt to wrap her dollies in. Made from from last weeks Sunday Stash.

SUNDAY STASH # 7

I would love to show you some of my newest stash, however, silly me lost my camera at Charlie's sports carnival on Friday...boo hoo, I'm really sad! especially since he won and it was his first ever race. I really hope someone hands it in. In the meantime here are some resin buttons I bought at the Sydney Stitches and Craft earlier this year. I really love the colours, haven't quite put them to good use yet.

SUNDAY STASH #6

A couple of Amy Butler fat quarters were one of my finds in Bowral on the week end. My Place is a gorgeous little shop which is a must see if you are ever in the area. It's Rosa's birthday on Sunday so I'm thinking of a doll size quilt for her dolly cradle which I have not even bought yet...

And this I just absolutely LOVE......it's a pillow cover with hand embroidered animals and girls. I think is was made by hand in India in a very cheap hessian type fabric from a shop called Monkey Monky ????? Very colourful and so cute.

Something for the boy

Just a few of new and old stash pieces almost ready to make a quilt for Charlie......yes Lea, I stole your Prints Charming check for the photo, I'll get some more next week. I think it is going to work well in this one......thanks for that! Thinking of just doing 6 1/2 inch squares and diagonal quilting it myself.

SUNDAY STASH #4

This is actually a skirt I bought from Vinnies last week. Beige is one of my favourite colours and the dots are quite big.....it's 100% cotton and heaps of fabric in it....gotta love that for $8. Can't wait to chop it up and use for....who knows what?

and this one is some sale fabric my girlfriend bought me a couple of weeks ago. I had the pink one in my stash ages ago, I used it all in a quilt for my friends bubba.....I really love it so I'm glad to have it back in my stash...
