What I like

I mentioned once or twice that my family and I decided to buy thrifted gifts for each other this past Christmas. Well I'm pleased to say that my loved ones know exactly what I like. Anything milk glass, aqua, white, vintage are all on the list of things I love. I'm glad they know me so well.

The tulip linen table runner is stunning and from my mum. The juicer is a little pressie I bought for me, how could I resist for only $5.

These special Poole pieces were from my Grandma's house and gifted to me from mum.

The mini cassette suitcase also from Gran's and the milkglass goblets which I think might just be my favourite are from my brother sourced by my sister as my bro left it way too late to start thrifting in late December.

Paul received this piece of industrial goodness from my mum, also found at Grandma's. It's filled with all the original medical bits. So, so cool don't you think?

And last but certainly not least some vintage pyrex from Lea.

December

So the month has almost past and what a whirl wind of a December it was.  We have enjoyed the best kind of Christmas, simple with lots of family and friends, yummy food, some good laughs and even some sleep ins.

Some snippets of our pretty perfect Christmas and the lead up to the big day.

 

Where ever you are I hope you are enjoying extra special time with your loved ones.

White Christmas

I've been busy making White Christmas for teachers this year. It's so simple and yum.

My friend Vicky made these gorgeous hand printed clay and card tags which add an extra nice touch.

White Christmas:

800 gms of white chocolate

2 cups dessicated coconut

1 cup of shelled unsalted pistachio nuts

1 cup of craisins

Melt chocolate and mix all ingredients together, set in fridge in a slice tin lined with grease proof paper. Cut into cubes before it sets rock hard.

Nana's quilt - Flea Market Finds

Well I can finally say I have started my Christmas gift sewing. A few weeks ago I came across this blue crystal box full of Nana fabrics in Vinnies for $6. I knew immediately what I was going to do with these. A quilt for my Mother In Law, these colours match her lounge room perfectly.

Just made it

I was stressing this year when it got to the 2nd of December and I had not thought of an advent calendar for the kids. I took Harvey and Rosa into a busy Westfield at lunch time to buy the Kikki K one I saw last week. Of course all of Sydney was sold out. Then my daily blogging turned up this little beauty and it's free to download. We just started at number 5 and I am slowly filling them up.

Christmas - Done and Dusted

sWell Christmas is well and truly over for another year. I might as well show you what I was making in the lead up. I'd love to show you what I have been creating in the last month but that would be zero. Here are a couple more clutches for my big sis and niece.

Well there you go. I think if I start my sewing prior to the 20th of Dec this year I might get a whole lot more achieved. At least they were all well received and my depleting stash can once again be topped up which of course is the best part.

Finally, this pic is one of my favourites. I usually make our Christmas cake a week before Christmas and take it home to Wagga for mum to ice (I find that dreaded fondant so sticky and hard to handle). Mum, Charlie and my niece Ellie surprised me with this beauty. Charlie had collected the unripe lemons from a friend's place the night before and for some reason just had to put faces on them. Unbeknown to me they stole my stash of gift tags and went ahead with their creation.......ta da!

What's in this box?

OMG is exactly what I said when I opened this big box of surprises. This is my Polka Dot Christmas Swap from Maxine.

Inside was lots of spotty stuff including pencils, notebook, patty pans, tissue pack, napkins, gorgeous paper chain making kit which I just love and can't wait to make with the kids.....but wait there's more....lots more!

This funky Christmas wreath made with tied fabrics pieces in my fave Chrissy colours. This was perfect because slack old me didn't even have anything on our front door.

How cute are these hand made decorations for the tree, those little gnomes or men are just too sweet! I love them.

Some dotty fabric, stickers and treats for the kids....

And a special gift just for me to open on the 25th..

And last but certainly not least, this gorgeous bunting in red and aqua.

I am one very lucky chickie, thank you Maxine, you certainly have spoilt me and I'm so, so pleased you did.
