Red Rocket Finito

Harvey has been begging me to photograph his little robot that he made then drew on with permanent ink, he's creations are so simple and their little faces always remind me of him.....does that make sense?

He just so happens to match perfectly with his Red Rocket quilt which I finished today. I'm so happy, mainly because after many a long month it's finally done but I really love the colour combo.
It certainly comes as no surprise that I have bound it in Lotus Dots red which I am never sick of and I really love the acid green in this one.

After much umming and arrhing and a quick call back to the quilter to change my mind, I opted for the cloud quilting with I thought would go well with the rocket theme. I don't know about you but I can't help but see that old fashioned quilting that you used to see on the old bedspreads, do you know the one I mean??? If I look past that then I'm pretty thrilled with the end result.

Now that I see the two boys quilts together I love that they are similar but have their subtle differences. Which one do you like best?

  1. I love what you have done with the quilts! They are similar but have a different feel to them. I am sure that they will get countless hours of use and love!

  2. Karlyn I absolutely LOVE both quilts!! I love how you mix your fabrics and colours!

    Sheree xx

  3. I love them both, I love all your quilts, do i have to have another baby to get one though ?

  4. Its so beautiful. I love the quilting you choose. And the fact that it reminds you of old fashioned quilting makes it even cooler!

  5. Love them both Karlyn! Gorgeous! I love the red print with the little white rockets ... very tempted to ask for more details and yet at the same time I don't want to know!

Nothing like a finished quilt ;)

  6. Yay for the finished quilt! I love the cloud quilting!

I think the robot Harvey made is super cute also.

  7. yep i love harveys robot too. i like both quilts if you really want a favourite-probably the red and blue. charlies is more grown up and suited to him tho.
