Piping and All

Whilst on school holidays at my mums, I decided it was time to learn for the second time how to make cushions. The zipper bit always seems to get me stumped. Well, under the guidance of my very crafty ma, I managed to whip these two beauties up. I really wanted to try piping for the first time, it worked really well. I'm so happy with the outcome. I have loved this Anna Maria Horner fabric for ages so it's nice to see some of my own handy work using it.

They brighten up my very monotone bedroom.

Note to self: Next time choose non stretch fabric for backing, it just seemed to grow and grow while sewing.
Tip: Stretch fabric however worked wonders on the piping as I didn't have to cut it on the bias.

  1. you are too clever. love the fabric too:)

  2. NIce work Karlyn! I just made one of these up also...less the piping and in the other colourway!

    Great minds think alike ;)

  3. Cool cushions! I love that fabric too.
