Springtime quilt and happy mail

I've finally made a start on my very first vintage fabric quilt. These are all pre loved sheets from op shops and fat quarter swaps. I have the biggest stash and it must go down because I keep seeing lovely sheets and just have to buy them. I have to justify it somehow, they all can't seriously make it onto our beds.

This pretty number is made up of 5" squares and is going to our neighbour's baby who was born six months ago. I'm using a thrifted white chenille bedspread for backing..................does anyone else take this long to get baby gifts out? I'm feeling a little guilty.

And now for some happy mail shots. I won these gorgeous baby burp cloths from the lovely Tania over at Ivy Nest.  I know a certain someone having a baby girl soon so at least she wont have to wait six months for her pressie. Aren't they lovely? they are so soft and I love the yellow.

and look what she snuck into the package, pretty pins tucked into a hand made envelope.

And this sweet summer dress which I have put away for Rosa's birthday next month. Julie from Narioka makes the prettiest girls dresses and tops, not to mention amazing quilts, you really should take a look.

Thanks girls x

  1. Your quilt is going to be so lovely, you're making far quicker progress than me :) I love that pale pink patterned fabric in it. Rosa is going to look adorable in that dress! I'm off to do a bit more sewing myself now. Enjoy your afternoon x

Your stash is lovely - that quilt is going to be beautiful and I'd be more than happy to receive such a lovely gift a little after the event!

Gorgeous little dress too, so pretty.
