My pyrex collection is certainly growing with a few pieces in gorgeous blues and shiny white. This blue beauty was $12, a tad pricey but had to have it. Below the dessert bowls were only $1 and the white Fridgie with lid in perfect condition was $5.
I adore these sweet dessert bowls in a rainbow of colours, so shiny and new.....trifle anyone? $2 each
I have to share the story about these little frosted gold and pastel tumblers which I am also in love with. I was lurking close to the back room of Vinnies on the week end when I heard one the old dears saying "trust me they are from the 60's, I'm telling you...... put $2 each on them, they are real goers and wont last long, give them a little wash and they'll come up a treat" I couldn't see what they were talking about but of course I couldn't leave without knowing so I had a little peak in the back room and spotted them. I patiently waited at the front counter and the lady bought them out ready to be priced, another lady screwed up her face when the old dear said $2. I swooped and said I'll take them, no need to price them, thanks very much. Go and tell the other dear out the back how quickly you sold them I said. We all laughed and I walked out one very happy girl...
My mum found the pretty rose oil painting and I found the fabulous gold mirror and another little tapestry yesterday, all for Rosa's room. I'm thinking a painting the frames white but the more I look at them the more I am taken with the gold.
All in all I'm pretty chuffed with this weeks finds, I'm playing along with Her Library Adventures, go take a peak.
Fabulous finds! Have just started my own pyrex collection and love seeing what others have picked up from garage sales and thrift shops. My mum has some of those frosted tumblers. She loves them! And the coloured dessert bowls...! Yey! I have a collection of peach coloured glasses I'll have to share on here sometime. Great shopping girl. Your goods brighted my afternoon. :)
ReplyDeleteAll so very, very pretty. Your gorgeous tumblers look just like a set of shot glasses I have. So much perfect Pyrex! Those fridge ones are very hard to find. I collect a bit of Pyrex and haven't come across any of those ones yet.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous finds! I've told my mum to keep her eye open for Pyrex bowls for me in her thrift shop browsing travels :) My Nanna had those exact same tumblers I think, so pretty. Love the dessert bowls, I got some similar shaped ones from a garage sale recently but yours are such pretty colours!
ReplyDeleteI love how you went in for the kill and walked out with your prize, and such a nice prize at that!
ReplyDeleteOooh beautiful bowls Karlyn! You always find the most wonderful things!

Those tumblers are gorgeous- they look like they have a sugar crystal stripe all around the sides. Nice pyrex too. I am trying hard to not covet pyrex or vintage tupperware but finding it increasingly difficult. Mel:)
ReplyDeleteGosh what adorable pyrex...and I loved reading about your frosted tumbler story....what a gorgeous and lucky find.
