Not so happy new year!

Well what a start to the year it's been. I have not been motivated to sew or blog at all, I know it has not been a happy start to the year for many Australians but I'm sure you will agree when you switch on your computer and see all of the fabulous things fellow bloggers are doing in relation to the terrible floods, it really lifts your spirits and makes you want to do all you can to help.

It's time for me now to get motivated and make a start on some quilt blocks and a quilt for Retro Mummy's Quilts for Queensland. Hop over and have a look at some of the beautiful quilts already donated.

In the meantime here are just a few things I made for Xmas pressies:

A slightly larger version of the bath mat featured in the 3rd issue of Fat Quarterly. I loved making this with the large Hexes, tedious at times but I got there in the end.

A giant house pillow similar to those I have seen on Etsy by mycakies.

And a hexagon cushion in the prettiest of girly fabrics.

  2. I agree.....I think we are all feeling a bit sad at the moment! I love that so many people have banded together to help, so many wonderful fundraisers have been put together in such a short amount of time. Simply amazing!

    Take care, Love Brenda

  4. LOVE all the gorgeous things you make Marleen and what a treat to be on the receiving end of those beauties. I LOVED Bella's reaction to your pillow.
PS You'll be pleased to know we have now stepped on the bathmat-albeit somewhat reluctantly.Lx
